Paithani sarees – A quintessential for Indian weddings

 



The weddings in India are a not just an occasion but a grand celebration. Families start savings from the time there is an extension in the family. The whole planning of life revolves around the career and the settling of the kids. We as a country still have hands on approach when it comes to arranging affairs of the wedding in our families. All the struggles, sacrifices and planning is done just to ensure that when the wedding happens then there is no stone unturned to make it grand.

Emotions are high and there is intent to make everything special right from the decor to food to invite to jewellery and off course the clothes. The Paithani saree which takes from three months to seven months in making is one of the most alluring weave in the world. The design innovation in the weave has made the Paithani saree more aspiring and elegant. The zari jaal pattern in Paithani sarees has connected with the sister and the mother of the bride and pairing it with a belt, embellished blouse and sometimes a dupatta make it more enriching. The Paithani saree is even recycled and up cycled by missing up its Border and Palla with some other textile.

Even during lockdown when the gathering was restricted to hundred the urge to wear a Paithani saree was quite high.
